Out of the blue this morning.... I started up my truck and it threw a CEL with the code P0603: Power Interruption on (KAPWR) circuit. I cleared it a couple of times.... but it keeps coming back. Can anyone tell me what exactly is wrong with the truck?

found this:
P0603 - Powertrain Control Module KAM Test Error Indicates the PCM has experienced an internal memory fault. However there are external items that can cause this DTC. Reprogramming
Battery terminal corrosion
KAPWR to PCM interrupt/open
Loose battery connection
Damaged PCM
If KAPWR is interrupted to the PCM because of a battery or PCM disconnect, DTC can be generated on the first power-up.

Are you running a new file? What file are you using? Does the truck stay running or does it stall after a certain time? Have you tried flashing a different file in a see if the code is still there?

I am currently running the 40 horsepower (no dpf) file.... I just got home from towing my 5th wheel. Its not a new file. The truck runs fine... drove it to work this morning. I was afraid to try loading another file - should I? I usually drive it on my 250 file. Do you recommend retuning to my 250 tune Nutty?

Well.... luckily it has reset and stayed reset.

You have either a wiring issue or the PCM has a loose connection inside.

It came up again twice yesterday. Nutty.... do you think my PCM is bad? Do I need to take it into the dealer for warranty?

I would get something figured out and the dealer seems to be the best option for something like that.

I would put the truck back to stock and drive it until the code reappears and then bring it to the dealer.

Ok.... I returned the truck to stock so I can take it into the dealer for service.... Been driving it two days now.... and I can't get the CEL to come now! Any ideas? Can it be tuning related at all? Should I try putting my 250 tune back in it (leaving the DPF on)... and see if it throws it?

I would not load a DPF delete tune up with the DPF on the truck. You don't know how long it might take for the code to come back up and it may not come back up at all....

will this is frustrating.... noone can really tell me why this code showed up on my truck and now that I have returned it to stock.... the code won't come up.
603 did say something about reprogramming.... I wonder if it has a counter that counts how many times it has been reprogrammed.... and now I am thinking about switching it back to tuned..... after it has been to stock and see it that will throw the code or not. Maybe going back to stock resets it?

Going back to stock, or changing to any tune will reset the PCM

It is possible that something could have been amiss with the file or the programming process. That code is not common and usually points to a hard part issue. There is no counter and yes, each time the truck is programmed there is a full reset. Since you have run with a different file for a few days with no issue, try putting the 210 file back in and let me know what happens. If the issue reappears shortly after putting that file in, then there could be a file issue in which you would need to contact Matt for a new file.

Thanks for the info Nutty.... I'll try putting the file back in it and see what happens. I'm just trying to make sense of this so I can get it resolved!

Nutty.... can I throw one of my lower tunes into the truck and leave the DPF in place.... drive it pretty gently.... to see if it appears or not?

You can do this if driven extreamly gental like a grandpa for a few miles, however it is not recomended at all do to the fact that your DPF will become pluged EXTREAMLY quick and you will have even more problems. Bottom line its easyer to just take the 1/2 hour to pull the DPF back off.

Ran it home this morning, 12 miles, on the 75hp tune..... no CEL. I'm thinking I might have corrupted a file somehow.

If going farther than around a typical city block, I would say don't do it.

Well.... knock on wood.... after returning to stock for about 300 miles.... I returned to my 250 tune and haven't had an issue for 145 miles.
