I have looked under my truck and some of you here have been really helpful on letting me know what to look for, and what sizes to use. But here's my problem I'm under the truck and I line up the aftermarket pipe with where the factory on is and to me it looks like the new pipe is short. So what I'm wondering is if anyone here can let me know if I'm looking at the right pipe.
I think its the pipe that connect to a curved pipe that goes under the bottom of the motor. If anyone has a picture and would be willing to email to me that would be really helpful.
Thanks:confused:

First let me say this, I'm not at all trying to sound like a smart ass or be rude but either you have the wrong pipe or you should consider having someone help you do it. this is a pretty obvious thing to do. that being said,
this is your dpf section
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm237/valetcruiser/P9171118.jpg
if you have a full dpf/cat delete pipe it will be about 70" long
if it is just a dpf delete it should be around 31" long

the dpf section has 1 sensor in it
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm237/valetcruiser/P9171119.jpg
it is at the rear of the section just before the joint
if you have the short delete pipe that is the only one you will have to move
if you have the long pipe there are 3 more
2 sensors at each end of the cat section and a pressure sensor on the cat section along with the sensor on the dpf section.
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm237/valetcruiser/P9171120.jpg
the 2 sections are seperated by the flange joint
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm237/valetcruiser/P9171121.jpg
if you have the short pipe the flange is where you will split the stock pipe and add your delete pipe. it will replace just the dpf section. be careful when you pull it apart not to damage teh gasket in the flange, they are not cheap and it needs to be there.
hope this helps

Nice disclaimer.:) Good tutorial. This could be a sticky. I've tried to help him as well with a diagram.

I think they come a bit short. I put mine on and had to use a ratchet strap to pull it together. Mine was the two piece part. I had a terrible time getting the 17mm pressure sensor fitting out. It stripped all but the first two threads on the piece. I will be ordering a new one in the event I have to return to stock.
I only inserted the delete pipe about 1 inch in to the factory tail piece because that is all the length I had to work with. Good luck.

I have not installed mine yet, taking it in Monday for other repairs. Thanks for the pics. Yes I noticed too that the replacement pipe for the dpf looks a bit shorter but it should work.

Thanks for all the info. I should have posted sooner, but we got it off already. Thanks

I took mine off yesterday and had a gong show going. First I broke the pressure sensor unbolting the bracket that holds it. Note to self: make sure you hang onto that bracket so it does not move when removing the single bracket bolt or it will cost you close to $200.00 for a new one if you can find one. Then the fitting in the DPF for this sensor did not have any kind of antisieze compound and it left all the threads behind. Ford did not have any in Canada so I wound up having to machine a new fitting myself. Other than that, it is a real breeze. I left the DPF and cat bolted together and had zero problem lifting it myself.

Diesel FOOL - Sounds like you had one hell of a time! Sure am glad that I didn't ask you to help me with my truck. Just joking! It's the pits when something like that happens. Well speaking from experience, you for sure can tell these new guys what not to do, and what they need to watch out for.
