I have a 6.4 L F350, 3:73 gears. Love the truck but hate the mileage.. common theme eh? Thinking of DPF delete with dd console. Questions:

1. Do you have to take off Cat as well?
2. Just removing DPF - noticable engine noise increase?
3. Do you get a lot of black smoke as a result of DPF delete?
4. Is this something a rookie could do?? DD and DPF delete?
5. Any idea of range of MPG increase?
6. Any other mods needed or is the basic $1,499 kit all you need?

Any help with these ??? would be greatly appreciated!! :)

Thanks

No you don't need to take the cat off. I just hammered the screen out of mine. lol.anyone can install this system all you need is a few wrenches and a couple ratchet straps(that's what I used anyways). It depends what tune you have loaded to how much it smokes and what mpg you get. I run the 250 and from stock I've increased an average of 6.2-8 mpg. And its a lot funner. There is no more engine noise the only increase of noise I noticed was with my cold air intake and the straight pipe added a little I guess. Its not even in the same league of loud as the straight piped 6.0l were(I bet a lot of guys on this forum will agree with me on that one)lol. If I was you I would for sure get this system. In my opinion its by far the best tuner on the market and you be nothing but impressed. I have a buddy that went for a ride in mine on the weekend and ive bin trying to get ahold of matt ever since to get him one. Instantly sold it to him anyways. Where do you live?

Hope this helped a little

Probably the best thing that I can say is that every person that has ridden in or drove my truck has vowed to buy one! I have a domestic repair shop a couple of doors down from me that installed his first one last week after seeing the increases in my truck, and is already lining more up to install. I have been running the 210 tune and have jumped my mileage up about 6mpg.

No on the CAT, Engine noise just a little different sound than stock, You will get some smoke just take it easy, A rookie can do it, just be careful removing the sensor, Mileage increase for me driving like an old lady with the 4.10 rear-end 3-3.7, Intake system, like S&B, or AFE. I like the AFE, but still get a CEL every now and then, but just clear it with the DashDaq. One thing for sure, you will be amazed what your truck will do after the delete pipe and the tuner. Great support from Spartan, great product, and you will only be dealing with 2-3 people. Enjoy!

I routinely haul a camper (3400 lbs.) and pull a boat (4000 + lbs). Can you do this safely with the DPF delete with the 210 tune??

I would suggest taking the cat off as well, and get the full DPF/CAT pipe...but thats a personal preference.

There is a noticible increase in sound at the tail pipe, but no difference in engine/injector noise.

Drivability is much better, much more responsive, and more power everywhere. MPG should go up 3-5mpg.

Install is easy, only need 2-3 wrenches, maybe a block of wook to pound with or a ratchet strap to pull things apart.

Second set of hands helps.

Beer is optional but recommended.

Pahrump - Do you really think removing the CAT will aid in improving fuel economy? I don't care if it's only .5 more, an improvement is an improvement. If so, then I'll get one, as long as it doesn't make any extra noise in the cab. My wife would shoot me if it does!

Yes I do....I would guess maybe a 10HP increase and maybe .5mpg or so...theres really no difference in outside noise and no difference in cab noise at all.

Thats right, 4" CAT/DPF delete pipe form powerstroker67, then into a 4" filter back system from RBP, no muffler, no cat, no dpf...just straight pipe.

Not much louder than stock inside with the windows up, driving around the outside noise is a bit more than stock and when you mash it it gets a bit more loud....but nothing I would call loud at all.

Heres a video of mine on the dyno when it made 500hp...or actually 499.xx...lol

Heres another video in the driveway

i run the cat/dpf delete with the stock back half. i wouldn't say it's louder it's just a different sound. in the cab the sound is crisper but not louder, if that makes sense. i wouldn't worry about it. mine is still quieter than my 6.0 was stock
