any opinions as to the most important engine paramaters to monitor when towing heavy loads.. also what is the best tune setting for towing heavy??

I've towed my skidsteer(445ct case) and 2 bundles of 8 inch fence posts on a 32 ft gooseneck. Altogether about 24,000 to 25,000 ibs and I used the 40 horse and it was really good. Next time I'm gonna try a bigger one though.

I think the most important thing to monitor is the EGT, although I couldn't tell you exactly why other than the obvious, maybe someone can.

I would say the 150 tune will be fine but some guys have towed a lot of weight with the the 210 & 250 tunes. I personlly tow 12,500 lbs with the 210 tune and haven't had an issue.

what egts are you getting pulling that load. I have a 16K 5th wheel I plan on pulling.
