Are you using EGRTA for the readings? Also which firmware is your unit running. Should be 1303. Mine gets up pretty hot when I get on it, with the 210 it would defuel at 1425-1450. With the 250, the highest I've seen is around 1450, then I let off the throttle....
I agree with mick, At first I had the wrong gauge. Now I Have it set to EGRTA for the readings and it runs about 400 idle to 1200-1400 . It was explained to me that that reading is the preboost temp.

EGRTA (pre-turbo EGT) is the way you want to go. The EGT sensors you are monitoring are in your exhaust where the CAT and DPF used to be...they are not the critical parameters you want to see.

When you did the signal scan did you find 285 Ford and 26 generic. If not you will need to make some change.
This may help you: http://www.spartandieseltech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=237
If not, send me a PM and I'll send you my cell number
Also, it shouldn't matter if it's A Ford Specific, or D. Mine was out of wack for a long time, but
it can be changed, if you want it that way...
