Here are some directions for helping those that are having problems with getting things setup. Special thanks to Pahrump for starting this way back when, also BigIslandBoy for being the one to figure out that it would not work with Vista 64 bit operating system. If you see something that needs to be changed, let me know and we'll get it edited, so it will be correct. Any suggestions, bring it on, no OOWeaver68!!!

Dashdaq

Tunes – Plug the sd card into your computer. Then create a folder on the sd

card named transfer .

Unzip you tunes. There should be 3 files, unless you also purchased the 250,

or 275 tune. Once they have been unzipped, copy them to the transfer

folder. Also download the DashDaq config file and place it in the transfer

folder. Here’s a link to the config fille:

First of all, if you have a Mac, it won’t work. Your unit may have the latest

update on it, here's how to find out. Plug it into your vehicle, while it

booting up watch the screen. It will display some DrewTech stuff, then

attempting to boot from internal flash, successful. Watch the next two lines.

I believe the second of the two will display a number. As of 9/27/08, it

should be DashDAQ-1.4.2-1303. If it's not, then you will need to update the

firmware. Before you update it, it is highly recommended that you return your

truck to stock. After that remove the sd card, make sure the unit is

powered down before removing it. You will need to install the cd on your

computer (someone's computer, no Mac) Then you will need to run the

Dashdaq Update tool. If you are using Windows XP, you will need to

install the driver for the DashDaq, directions are in the user manual, or you

can get it off the DrewTech site. Windows Vista 32 bit operating system will

load it automatically when it detects the DashDaq. If it a Vista 64 bit

operating system, you are screwed. Will not work on the 64 bit system. You

can also download the Update Client from the DrewTech site. Go to support,

then downloads (Update Client) Plug the DashDaq into the computer using

the usb that is located on the left side of the DashDaq.

There is only one usb on that side. Don't use the others that are located on

the right side, they are for connecting other devices to the unit. Click the

DashDaq Update Tool button and it should find your unit. Highlight the unit

that it finds. Think it displays name, status, and serial number. Now click the

check web for update button. It will probably find 2 updates. One for the

operating system and one for the firmware. When it completes the update, it

will let you know that it is safe to disconnect the unit. Reinstall the sd card

after it is powered off, connect it to your vehicle and see if it boots up with

1303. If it doesn't, update it again. The last 3 people I helped, they had to

do it twice. Don't know why, but??? Make sure you set all the high warning

colors on your gauges so you will be able to see them.

One more thing, BE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR STOCK FILE AND

TUNES. Burn them to a cd, another sd card, or flash drive, and put it in a

safe place.....Don't wait to have some kind of problem, and find that your

stock file is corrupted, or lost. As soon as you get the first tune loaded,

(approx 35 minutes), before you drive it, power down the

DashDaq, remove the sd card, and then copy your stock file to the

computer. It only takes 15 minutes to switch between tunes.

Go to Setup

Then scroll right/left till you get to install devices

You will see:
a- Generic ODB2
b- Analog Input
c- Analog Input
d-
e-
etc....

Push the d-

Then push Change...its in the middle at the bottom.

Then push Driver. Its at the top.

You will see:

Chrysler
Ford
GM
Generic
Etc

Push FORD

Then push SAVE

Then SAVE again

Now go to Signal Scan, and scan. It should pick up I believe 26, and 45 Ford.

Then go to the main menu.....push PARAMETERS....push the option that

shows up...I think is says 0 or something, then the middle button on the

bottom will highlight...then push change, and you will see a keypad, push the

number "1" then save, and save. Then to go Signal Scan again.. It will scan

the 26 ODB2 things...then it will scan and find like 285 Ford parameters.

Config File

1-Go to the Main menu

2-Click "SetUp"

3-scroll to: install from SD card

4-click on "config file"

5-click install

6-choose "DashDAQ.config"

Change Splash Screen

From gauges, click main menu.

Next click setup.

Scroll right/left till you get to startup splash screen.

Select none, or drewtech.tga.

Then click save…

Change Dashboard Themes (Different Gauges)

From gauges, click main menu.

Next click setup.

Scroll right/left till you get to dashboard themes.

Select default, or the one you desire to use.

Make sure you change the high warning colors on all gauges to a color that

you will be able to see if you do reach the high limit.

Save Config File

After you have all your gauges set the way you like, scroll left/right till you

get to backup to sd card.

Select config file.

I believe it will display overwrite existing file, select yes.

can I do set up and transfer the config file while I am waiting for my tunes to come through or do I have to wait and do it all at once?

CornellCowboy - If you have your unit you should update it with the latest firmware 2.0.0-1364. After that, make a folder on your sd card called transfer
Download the config file and copy your tunes when you do get them into the transfer folder. Make sure after you load the first tune that you power down the DashDaq, remove the sd card and copy your stock file from the sd card to your computer. You will not have a stock file on the sd card till after you load the first tune. Make backup copies of your stock file and your tunes and put them in a safe place. Burn them to a cd/dvd so if your computer crashes, or jump drive fails you still have a copy. Any questions, send me a pm and I will send you my phone number. This may help:

My DD finds 285 parameters but I can only access 45 or so of them. The rest show up but are shaded and when you try and access them it says they are available by license... Is this normal???

appreciate any help...

On mine I believe there is 39 that I have available, even tho it detects 285. Here's some info that I copied from the DrewTech site. It came from an old post, 6 Nov 2007, so I'm sure some of the items have changed. Hope this answers your question.
Here's the link just in case you want to read the entire post.

Ford Enhanced Signals

Postby Joey@DrewTech on Tue Oct 07, 2008 1:33 pm
Since we'll be releasing the v2.0 software shortly, I wanted to post an updated list of all the Ford Enhanced signals.

When you scan for signals you'll see some white signals and some grey signals. Anything in white was detected and can be assigned to a gauge. Anything in grey was detected and can be unlocked if you purchase a license for FordSpecific. Of course the exact list still depends on the sensors in your car. Here's the default list of signals (colored according to the licensing):

* Accelerator Pedal Position (%)
* Brake Pedal Switch Input (Active / Inactive)
* Cylinder Head Temperature (°F)
* Diesel Particulate Filter Regeneration (On / Off)
* Engine Coolant Temperature (°F)
* Engine Load (%)
* Engine Oil Level (%)
* Engine Oil Temperature (°C)
* Exhaust Back Pressure (kPa)
* Exhaust Gas Recirculation Temperature Sensor A (EGRT/EGRT-A) (°C)
* Exhaust Gas Temperature Bank 1 Sensor 1 (°C)
* Exhaust Gas Temperature Bank 1 Sensor 2 (°C)
* Exhaust Gas Temperature Bank 1 Sensor 3 (°C)
* Fuel Control State
* Fuel Injector Pulse Width (µsec)
* Fuel Level (%)
* Fuel Loop (Open / Closed)
* Fuel Mass desired per stroke (mg)
* Fuel Rail Pressure (PSI)
* Fuel Rail Temperature 1 (°F)
* Injection Control Pressure (MPa)
* Injector Timing (°BTDC)
* Intake Air Temperature (°F)
* Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2 (°F)
* Intake Manifold Air Temperature (°F)
* Intake Manifold Runner Control (Open / Closed)
* Manifold Absolute Pressure (kPa)
* Manifold Gauge Pressure (kPa)
* Mass Air Flow (g/s)
* Spark Advance (°BTDC)
* Super Charger Intercooler Pump (Active / Inactive)
* Supercharger Bypass Control (Active / Inactive)
* Supercharger/Turbocharger Inlet Absolute Pressure (kPa)
* Torque Converter Slip (RPM)
* Torque Converter Status
* Torque Convertor net input torque (ft lbs)
* Torque Convertor net input torque (ft lbs)
* Transmission Fluid Temperature (°F)
* Transmission Position
* Variable Geometry Turbo duty cycle (%)
* Vehicle Speed Sensor (mph)
* Wastegate control duty cycle (%)

We have some other signals that most people don't use on a daily basis. Normally we hide these so you don't need to scroll through 500+ items. But if you really want to weed through the "complete signal list" then it's possible to read these too:
