Beware, I had my truck broken into and they snagged my DD. I was shocked since it was parked right outside our office building. I think the building has cameras but I have no faith they would ever be caught. The dude even cut himself on the glass because I have some dry blood on the center console.

Oh well, I guess I have to order another from Matt. I really liked the monitoring but I will be keeping it at home except for long hauls.

Get in touch with Gerry40, I think he told me that he contacted Drewtech when his was stolen. They didn't get his cable, so they would have to get another one. Think that is the only place where they can get a replacement cable, unless they got yours when the took the unit. Anyway they can hopefully let you know if someone in your area wants a cable...Would be worth a try!

Thanks! Gerry40 already contacted me. They didn't take my cable either. They must believe the DD is a GPS unit...

They probably did a guy I work with had his tom tom stolen the cops told him this has been happening alot they wanted the serial number so they could look for it at the pawn shops and such. Let the cops, Matt, Drew know more eyes the better if who ever took it gets caught that helps everyone.

Got in touch with Drewtech today about helping to recover with stolen units:

There have been 4-5 people on the ford forums that have had their DashDaq stolen, without taking the cable. Is there anyway that drewtech could require that the serial number of the unit be provided when purchasing additional parts/accessories? That way if the unit has been reported stolen, it would help to recover the unit and get it returned to the rightful owner. Also it would show great support from drewtech! Thanks for your time. Paul

This is the reply I received:

Paul,

It totally s!#%s that they are getting stolen.

When we hear a report of a stolen unit we make a note of it in
our serial number database.

We have a plan for dealing with stolen units.

We will see how effective it is.

We want to help in any way we can to recover stolen units.

Now I think this is defiantly a company that we all want to support. We will have to see how it goes!
