DrewTech just released another firmware update. It's 2.0.0-1364. All icon driven. I am on the way to update it now. Will post more after I get it done.
This was listed on their site. Enjoy!
We are pleased to announce the release of DashDAQ 2.0 software. You will notice that the DashDAQ website has also changed to reflect a similar user interface.
The new software changes to icon-based graphics, supports the recently released skin editor, and paves the way for GPS Navigation and other planned features.
Along with the 2.0.0 software, there is a new update client. You can download the update client from our website. This new update client will allow you to download drivers and license files to the DashDAQ without the use of a memory card. I had to remove my old update client before I could install the new one.
DashDaq Manual http://www.dashdaq.com/support/downloads/Manual10-2-08.pdf
Installation CD http://www.dashdaq.com/support/downloads.htm
Update Client http://www.dashdaq.com/support/downloads/DashDAQ-PCTool-2.0.5.msi
Skin Editor Tool http://www.dashdaq.com/support/downloads/image_editor.zip
The changes are also explained in the new users manual, also posted in the download section of our website.
Make sure you download the new user manual, and read it prior to updating your unit.
After you have installed the new DashDaq update tool, and have connected the unit to your pc, it will detect your unit, if it doesn't you will have to install the driver for the Dashdaq. Click the Update DashDaq Tool button. It will load some new software, then you will have to highlight your unit (serial number, ready, firmware version. Then click update firmware. After it downloads the update, you will have to select the items that you wish to install. You must select Ford, Generic, Analog, all the gauges, and there are some free things if you want them. Send me a pm if you have any questions. For those that have my number, call after 4:30 central time.
Remember, it is highly recommended that up reload your stock file prior to updating your DashDaq

I am updating as I type. Noticed when you select the items to build your update file, the Ford Specific was labeled as "Trial". Hope this is not a problem.

stumppuller08 - I don't think you will have any problem since we already have a license for the extended Ford parameter. I did have the BETA version on my unit, until I install this new one last night, so don't think it will affect our units.

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. Did you first click the Update DashDaq Tool button? It will then upload some updates to your unit. After that has been completed, highlight the serial number of your unit and then click update firmware. If you are still having problems, send me a pm and I will send you my phone number...

well it seems to be working ok except I still can't reboot it. If it is powered off, it will not reboot... reads: hardware failure (code 1), until I can get the pc to finally reconize the serial of DD. Then it will work again untill turning off/rebooting.
When downloading the new firmware it went from trying to download 5 of 5 applications. Afterwards it says only 3 of 5 were complete. DD will not say anything but "Do not unplug....". Tried several times. I did eventually unplug it and it seems to be working fine so far except for the rebooting issue which has been an issue with several DD's saying "hardware failure".
(Unrelated) The other question was, What happens if you hit the Clear User Settings in the update tool?

I'm really not too sure. I think, but not for sure if you do it and update your unit it will not update the Ford, generic, analog, gauges and other free things that you have to select when updating the firmware.

yes, did all that.. clicked on all listed. So far plugged into the OBD2 it seems to be working fine. Parameters set w/config file. Gauges working. Even loaded th Spartan DT splash screen. If I turn off the DD an reboot on quickly sometimes it restarts ok. Other times I get the "hardware failure" reading. Very odd. We'll see what happens.. Scott is going to be sending a new Stock file also because with the new DD it saved my 250 tune as stock.
Thanks for the support.

I would be sure to let Scott, or Matt know what your unit is doing. Also, you can post your problem on the Dashdaq forum, send an email support@drewtech.com, or better yet, call them (734) 222-5228. They have great customer support!!!

just got it loaded up and workin. it's pretty f"n stellar man. i didn't try to load the stock tune back because i didn't feel the need so i don't know if the problem is fixed but the rest of it is sick. i also been playing around with the skin editor. so far it seem like you can only edit existing skins and not creat totally new ones. it's still pretty cool though. i'de like to figure out how people are creating flash screens.

is anyone else having problems getting all their pids to work? I'm only getting 112 ford and 26 obdII specifics after this new update?
Well I went back out to the truck and ran the find the specifics again and this time it got all 285. So I had to do it 3 times but now it all works. And this weekend it looks like I will be messing around with the skin editor to make it how exactly I want it.

hotlicks2go - Did you ever figure out what the problem was?

Not yet.. Spartan sent me a new stock file (recovery file) but won't load. All other files (tunes) load without issue, just can't get back to stock. Of course we still have a problem with rebooting but othwise it seems to be working fine with the 1364 firmare. Although when downloading the new 1364 it didn't look like it loaded fully but the DD seems to work fine. Hopefully we can figure this out.

I thought I was SOL after trying this update. It got to 2/5 for me then the DD would reboot causing a "flash erase error" msg. I couldn't get the old flashes to work either. So I went to download the updated CD. I saw a recovery folder. I installed its update tool and reloaded the USB driver on the CD. This time it loaded with no errors! I went back to download the updated firmware and it flashed this time with no errors. Not 100% what the cause was but it had me going "OH F_CK!!!!" Since I flashed my truck back to stock prior to doing the update, I thought my truck was going to be sitting a long time... Thankfully it is all good now.

My DD now reboots and operates normally. During firmware update (1364), when selecting from download options list, select from the "Recommended" options + Ford Specific and NOT "Select All" button. My unit now Reboots and operates normally, no more "hardware failure" screen. :)

smurfz - That hasn't came out yet. If you look on the DrewTech site, you will also see Entrainment, and GPS. If you take a look at the Entertainment on their site it has: Listen to MP3s, Watch Digital Video, and Play Games. Lots of exciting thing to come!!!

Dont_Ram_Me_Stroke_Me - Does your computer have XP or Vista with the 64 bit operating system??? If it does, then that may be part of your problem...
