i noticed some coolant leaking on my truck, and set it back to stock to take to the dealer. they told me it was the fuel cooler? can these be deleted? 6.0s and 7.3ls do not have them? is there any real benefit to it? eitherway, after picking my truck back up, and driving it in some rush hour traffic on the freeway, it started to smoke really bad. it was making white clouds. the gauges were all normal, and i think that white smoke pretty much means water/coolant is getting burned off. do not know how that is happening. any ideas?

White smoke is typically raw fuel in a somewhat evaporated form. Not quite a mist of fuel. It's more condensed than that. Think of it in terms of weather and the white fluffy clouds you see in the sky. Hahaha

And no, I wouldn't delete the fuel cooler.

thanks jeff. well i guess i will not worry about the smoke. i drilled out the cat, does that affect the truck any as far as dtc's go? so far it has not set any. yes, it is running the stock program since i had some warranty work, and will be going back in a bit for a another check up. while i was there they told me that they had performed an updated pcm reflash. do you know anything about this? will this keep closer tabs on programmers and such? i really do not want to void the warranty. i have an 08 that i bought in march '07, so it must have ben manufactured in 1-'07 if not earlier, so they have been good so far with warranty work. and also according to you guys these 6.4s were the ones with the most problems, being the earliest builds.
