Has anyone else noticed their truck surging when say you are driving 65 on the interstate and accelerate? When my truck hits 2000 rpm it is surging like i am taking my foot and patting the accelerator.

Don't notice surging upon acceleration, but at that speed around 70mph its hard to keep a consistent throttle position. A hair movement seems to result in surging issues or feeling of surging. I think that the 250 tune is very sensitive at that range. It also seems to get a second wind at this point, a new found sudden surge of power.

Mine does it at highway speeds, steady throttle, cruise on-cruise off, ac on- ac off. I put the OEM intake back on at Nutty's suggestion but it still does it, just not quite as bad. Outside temp doesn't seem to matter on my truck which is a Job 1.

I have this problem with the 250 also. My truck has 4.88 gears so I see it at a steady 60-65 mph. The cruise seems to help a little but it is still there. I don't find it with the other tunes, 210 and lower.

My dually does the same thing. I start feeling it around 68 mph and above. If I press on the throttle around 70 not getting on it very hard, the surging gets worst up to around 85. I did log it running 75 coming back from the races for a good 3-4 minutes and will send it to Matt & Scott so they can take a look at it.

That is great you were able to log it as there are a lot of trucks with the exact same problem. My truck does it with the 210, 250, and 275 tunes.

I was going to load the 250 in my truck on Tuesday for a 2 hour trip on the highway but now I might just stick with the 210. I don't feel like having any problems. Are you guys that are having issues running Job1, Job2. or Job3 trucks?

My truck is a job 2. I know they will get the problem solved. I sent them another log file from the trip up north to see if it would help...

My truck did it at 2000RPM with the 250 tune. 275 tune the problem is solved. Hardly a problem though "small price to pay for big Horsepower".
With all that power you should not be cruisin at 60MPH any way. Spin her up get her done.

Strokens and my truck are both Job 3 trucks and have had the same problem. I have tried the 210,250, and 275 tunes all with the same problem. Some days with the 275 my truck also idles funny. There is definatley something wrong which is bothering the fuel delivery. Sledneck57 has a Job 2 truck with the same issues. Could be the funny looking side vents on his truck though. JK!!

OK, w/250 tune, set cruise at aprox 68mph and did experiance surging issue as well. Also seen FRP gauge fluctuating rapidly.

Fuel rail press is always going to be moving around. What you are not seeing with the dash daq is frp desired press. It is another pid value that frp is always trying to achieve.

I understand it moves around but it is fairly steady once at a set cruising speed. Until aprox. 68mph. Then the pressure starts jumping around erraticly. You can feel the truck bucking. I've never noticed it before someone pointed it out, so I was experimenting to see what happened. I've always noticed it's extreamly throttle sensitive at that range (68-70mph). Hard to keep a steady foot or cruising speed without the feeling of surging. Below that range, it's smooth. I set the cruise control on for testing and only got those surging pressures starting at approx. 68mph.

I have noticed that the cold surge has just about stoped. It is still there just not as bad.Its possible that the pcm learns to adapt to the cold weather with the tune . Has anone noticed the same thing?

I still have it running the 275 tune. Even with the cooler weather it's still the same on my truck.

AFE my tail! I got one and the codes that it throws, but it is easy to clear. And will probably get another one for the wife's truck. Pahrump, I don't feel the surging till I get up to around the 2250-2400 rpm range. If I keep it at 64 mph, 2025 rpm it runs fine. It's when I get to running up towards 68 and above that it can really be felt...

I rerely run my truck at 2200-2500rpm...hell I would be going 90mph plus at that rpm

Mine does it all the time. Especially when accelerating. If I really baby the truck it is not as noticable. If I run WOT it doesn't happen. Only when I want to run 1/4 to 1/2 throttle. My frp runs anywhere from 9000 to 12000 constantly when I run like that. Also, when I let it idle sometimes it runs 5000 to 5100 and the next time it will run 5400 to 5600. Don't know why. The surging seems really bad to me. I either have to baby it or really get on it. It is so bad the truck kind of bucks around when it starts doing it. Guess we'll have to wait to see what Matt says.
