How do you get the numbers red. Mine are gray and I can't see them very well. Very nice job. These gauges are awesome. Much better than before.

fdxgnd, are they gray even with the theme installed?

I put it on sd card, installed in dashdaq, installed theme on it and everything else looks the same except gray numbers for gauge readings.

I think I did. When I put sd card back in, I went to setup and installed theme called spartan. Still all gray/white letters and numbers. Any ideas?

This should help:
Setting Signal/Graph Colors
The DashDAQ allows users to assign different colors to the signals assigned to a particular gauge. The signal will be displayed in the color chosen. To change color values: Tap on a signal box. Tap on the red, green, and blue swatch in the corner of the box. Now tap on the color to select. Tap [Save]. Tap [Save] in the Set Gauge Properties window to return to the gauges.

hey man i just wanted to say thanks to whoever built the new theme. i understand it is a lot of work and takes alot of knowledge about the programs to do it. so thank you for taking the time and thankyou for offering it to us for free. it's nice that there are still people who are just willing to do cool stuff for others without the expectations of anything in return. you are a good joe in my book.

I'm new here and have just gotten some issues sorted out so that I can post and ask questions,,,I like the new Spartan theme and was wondering if someone could tell me EXACTLY (lead me by the hand) on how to get it downloaded to the DasDaq? I am not real computer literate.
mick1955
11-28-2008, 01:33 PM
Slick02 - You have to have the current update installed on your Dashdaq. Watch your unit boot up. It will display some DrewTech info, then show attempting to boot from internal flash, Successful! The next 2 lines will show a number. Should be something like 1.4.2-1303, or 2.0.1-1364. The one you need is 1364. If it hasn't been updated, you'll need to start here:
http://www.spartandieseltech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=237
After all that is done, you will need to copy the theme to your transfer folder.
Then you will have to install from sd card. From gauges click exit, then go to Setup, then Memory card, then Install, and now Themes. Select the theme you want to install. From the Setup menu, click Display, then Themes and select the one you wish to display and then select ok.
Slick02
11-28-2008, 01:49 PM
Right now it shows me a 1.4.2---1303 which should be one of the recent setups being as the unit is only 3 weeks old..Most of what I just read from the link you provided made no sense whatsoever to me(kinda like chinese math) Don't mean to be dense,,but my computer skills are VERY limited.

I would like the Spartan theme on the "night" package or at least on the gauge panel that is all digital with the one big fonted gauge in the upper left corner surrounded by 5 smaller ones. This panel is also in the neon package. What would be even better is the ability to make the fonts bigger in all the gauge packages. I don't use the analog gauges because the print is so small.

You can change the font size using the Skin Editor, but I don't believe there is any way to change the names due to the fact that DrewTech has it set up that way. I will check and see if I can get you an answer:)
Posted on the DrewTech Forum. When I get a response I'll let you know.

This is the reply I got on the DrewTech forum:
The item several have talked about that lets you modify signals will also let you make a custom name for it. It's in development still.

Watch you unit boot up. On the last line it will list you firmware version. It should be one of the following or it will not work, 2.0.0-1364, or 2.0.1-1394 if it has the latest update... From the instructions you listed above, it sounds like you have an old firmware version. This is how it should be done with 1364, or newer firmware:
Change Dashboard Themes (Different Gauges)
From gauges, click Exit. Then click Setup. Now click Display. Next click Theme, and select the theme you wish to display. Then click Ok. NOTE: Make sure you change the high warning colors on all gauges to a color that you will be able to see if you do reach the high warning limits that you have selected.

Is this the one with the one large digital gauge and the slide on the bottom to sink in with the digital readout? If so that would be awesome to have in the Spartan theme.

Try this:
Loading New Themes That You Made Or Downloaded
First copy it to the transfer folder on your sd card. Insert the sd card into the DashDaq. From Gauges click Exit. Then click Setup. Now click Memory Card. Next click Install, & now Themes. Select the Theme you want to install.

Jeepster401, no the one I'm refering to are all digital gauges. I've been told that the font size can be adjusted in the gauge building package but hell, I haven't figured out how to build the themes much less how to resize the fonts. I just don't have the time, or more importantly, the computer skills to do it.

I can change dashboard themes using your method you described cause they are factory programmed. But when I try to load one like you described from the SD card, there is nothing on the list. Now if I remove the card and plug it in to the reader inside on my desktop computer is shows a dashdaq theme file. Is the card bad or what? Its listed as the Spartan Dashdaq theme right?
