K guys I'm ready to get a 6.4 but I need some questions answered(reading your forms makes me want one bad).

1. If I get the DPF Delete can I run red fuel? I own a farm so I get a pretty good deal on it.

2. Head Studs do you need them?

3. What other engine mods do you need for the Spartan 275

I have a 06 King Ranch with 5" lift, 35" toyo's mt on 20" moto metals stage 2 afe straight pipe with the Banks Six gun now. Me and a few friends built it, it was a roll over and needed a new cab. I would probubly do the same thing on a 08 keeps the cost down plus it will have some miles on it so hopefully it will get past that bad fuel mileage stage. Some times you can get one for cheap with minor damage(more money for speed parts :)
So let me know what you all think and give me some pointers on what to do first.

So let me know what you all think and give me some pointers on what to do first.1. I suppose you could. Just make sure to change your filters before you head to the dealership for repairs. I've heard rumors of dealerships calling the authorities upon finding red filters.

2. Not as of yet. I don't think I've seen any head stud issues on even the 275 tune with NOS and/or methanol. The 6.4 came with much larger diameter than the 6.0's.

3. Nothing major really. Obviously you'll need to replace the air filter with either a good High Performance filter like from greenfilterusa.com or even some sort of aftermarket intake & filter like from S&B or Volant. Also might want to check into getting a spare set of IC hoses/boots. There have been *some* issues with IC boots/hoses either blowing off or breaking, but THIS is rare. Additionally, the transmissions are handling the HP just fine. You can check with Matt, I think he's been trying to break his since the tuner was released. Im not sure if he's broken it yet or not. Either way, my point is that I dont think I've seen any mention of broken trannys in any of the forums I subscribe to - and some of these guys are drag racing and pulling quite a bit.

These trucks are laying SOLID 13.0-13.20 second times in the 1/4 and making 500+ RWHP on the wheel dyno's all with just the Spartan 275 tune.

I post and read regularly on the 3 large diesel truck forums and to this date I've not seen any major head gasket issues. Amazingly the only head gasket issues I've seen are on trucks that already had radiator issues before they put the tuner on the truck. Those trucks most likely would've had head gasket issues even w/o the tuner. Ford had a problem with the radiators splitting in these and a special venturi was needed to prevent the fluid from cavitating in the radiator causing seam splits. But, this is rare.
