Reloading a Tune

Since I haven't tried it yet, do you need to reload the stock tune, before changing tune levels??
What if you simply want to reload the same tune.
Will the same level tune load "on top" of the old tune of the same level without reverting to stock tune first??

There is no need to change back to stock when changing tunes.

Thanks, I just returned from a trip and have been experiencing much the same problems as others with surging, loss of power, poor mileage, etc. So I thought I'd try a reload first.
