Some folks have been seeing a driver error as soon as the DashDaq is connected to the truck after updating the firmware while others have received new units and have no option to set-up the Ford parameters. If this is the case, you will need reinstall the firmware. Here's how it's done:
First you will need to download the update client from DrewTech, here's the link:
http://www.dashdaq.com/support/downl...Tool-2.0.5.msi
Make sure the sd card is removed while the DashDaq is powered off. After it's downloaded, you will have to install it. It's easy to do. Just click on the file and let it run. Vista should self install the driver once the DashDaq is connected to the computer if it has the 32 bit operating system. For XP, you will have to download the driver. Instructions are detailed below. If your computer has XP, or Vista with the 64 bit operating system, your out of luck for now until DrewTech comes out with a fix. Hopefully soon, but we have all heard this for some time. Connect the DashDaq to the computer using the single connection on the left side. This is the only connection used for updating your DashDaq. Vista should install the driver for the DashDaq when it is connected to your computer. If it's XP, then you will need to download the cd, or just the driver. You can get it here:
http://www.dashdaq.com/support/downloads.htm
Once you get the driver, or cd downloaded plug your DashDaq, and the found new hardware wizard will appear. Let it try to find the driver, if it doesn't, disconnect it and plug it again. Choose install from specific location. You will have to tell it where you have downloaded the driver (which folder), or open the cd, go to driver and use that location. Once it picks up your DashDaq double click on the DashDaq Update Tool. If it recognizes your unit, the serial number will appear, along with the status, and firmware version number. On your DashDaq screen it will display Boot halted. You may now attempt to recover. This is normal. Click on the serial number and it should highlight it. Then click Update Firmware at the bottom of the box. It will bring up a welcome box, Click next, and it will connect to the DrewTech site for the available update. Then click next to continue. Now you will have a box pop up and you will need to click the drop down arrow on the right side, where it displays Choose the firmware you'd like to install. You should only have one option, 1364. After that the component box will appear with a lot of choices to select. Select the following:
Acceleration Map
AEM UEGO
Analog Input (must have)
Analog Input (Nonlinear)
Dyno Calculator
Economy Calculator
Rescale Signal Calculator
Statistics Calculator
Moates QuarterHorse
Blackline GPS
Generic GPS
VBOXIII GPS
Innovate LC-1
Ford Specific (must have even tho it list as trial)
Generic OBDII (must have)
default (these are your gauges - themes)
metal
night
neon
sports
sports2
Warnings (must have unless you are using your own .Wav file if you want audible alerts)
Media Player (If you select this option, you have to remove some of the free items. You max download size can not be much over 10meg. If it is you will get an error that the file is too large)
Before you click next, recheck the list to ensure everything you want is checked.
Then click next, and it will start downloading the update. It can be canceled up to this point, but after you click next again, there is no turning back and the update must continue. If you realize that you missed something, let it upload and then do it all over again. Do not disconnect the DashDaq. If something happens during the upload process, it will more than likely have to be shipped to DrewTech for repairs. After that, just let it finish uploading, then follow the instructions found in the Updated DashDaq Help File. Link provided below...
Setting up Ford Parameters

One more thing, if you are updating to 2.0.1-1394, change the complete signal list to 3 instead of 1 and you should pick-up more Ford Specific signals. This may also work on 1364.
