I want to purchase a SCT unit and have called 5+ times over the last month. I know from other posts that they are very busy, but I'm excited and anxious too. I don't know which tuner is right for me but 1 call could answer my questions and take my order.

Please leave a detailed message with your name and a return phone number and the call will be answered.

Not sure what you are getting at, are they a bad unit or you can't get rid of them cause you don't have the truck anymore. If you ran the sct what power level did you run it at. I don't have head studs yet so I don't want to hurt anything. (yet):) I'v been trying to decide how long I want to keep my Banks six-gun, I'v never ran with anyone with the sct (can't compare the two on the street if you know what I mean)

if i were you i'd get rid of the banks and pick up an SCT! these tuners are the way to go with the 6.0L. if you read any thread on the 6.0L and tuning you will see that the SCT is superior to the rest. the main advantage is being able to put custom tunes onto your truck. canned tunes will kill these trucks, especially the trannies. i think that if you were to try the SCT you wouldn't even remember who banks is....:D

That sounds good, but how hot of a tune (from Sparan) would I be able to run with out head studs. Would the preloaded SCT be better then the banks as well? I would like to try the Sartan tunes would I need to get the SCT that is blank so I could load their tunes on to it?

that i am not 100% sure on. i don't think that you are going to have to erase the canned tunes on the SCT. i am pretty sure that you can have up to three extra custom tunes on it along with the canned ones. someone correct me if i'm wrong!

but i guarantee you this, once you try a custom tune and compare it to a canned tune, you will never go back to the canned ones!

Actually I think you can start out with canned tunes, but once you erase those canned tunes and have the drivers setup for custom tunes that is all you can get. Atleast with the xCal 2 and 3. The livewire might be different.

It's even better with Matt's new programmer. He'll be able to flash the FICM with each individual tune so the strategy changes depending on if your trying to maximize economy or power or even a little bit of both. Pretty soon SCT will actually be outdated as far as what you can do with custom tuning.

Awsome thanks guys, So basically I need to get rid of my six gun (good luck I know) Would it be better to get the SCT myself (my buddy can get a good deal on them) or just get everything from Spartan and plug it in and burn some rubber

the only thing i'm worried about is cost! last i saw it was gonna be about 1,250 bones.....i can't afford that. not even close. though i did see something about it is gonna end up costing less than originally anticipated. is there any truth to this?

Yes it is going to be a little less then anticipated(emphasis on little), most of it's due to the cable. However, even though it is high, if you look at the competitors that offer something close to it, they are about the same price. The only one though that I know that is close to it is the PMT by Bullydog and it's about the same price, three tunes(although bullydog it's "canned" tunes, while this one will be custom) and the features that the dashdaq does goes beyond what they say the PMT does on the website.

So would you just wait and get the Phalanx when it comes out for sell, or get the SCT tuner with some custom tunes on it right now. Yea 1200 is alot but the compition is that as well. Like you say canned tunes nothing custom.

Based on what I'm experiance now with the Phalanx I do believe that it's worth it. I do have a thread at FTE if you want to look at that in the 6.0 forum. If you have specific questions of options or perks that you would want to know if it has it available shoot me a PM on here or on FTE if you are also a member there with enough posts to shoot a PM and I'll let you know what I have so far.
