Just wanted to let everyone know that DrewTech has been working on the Media Player, and Audible Alerts for the DashDaq. It out for those that are Beta testers. I've got it on my unit. Release date is not known at this time and I'm sure they'll be making more changes before it's released.
Media Player
With the help from DrewTech and one of the members, I now can play songs through my DashDaq. You have to create a folder on the sd named media. The folder must be created beside the transfer folder. It can't be placed inside it! If you do it will not pick up any of the songs. I first had to convert songs to MP3 format. Then, copied them into the Media folder. From gauges, you'll click exit. Then click Entertainment, then Media Player. Next select the song you wish to play, press Ok, and away it goes. While playing, there are no buttons displayed.
- During playback the screen is a 6-pack of buttons. These buttons are hidden, but you can press on the screen while video or audio is playing:
Vol- | mute | Vol+
---------------------------------
Rev -10 | Pause | FF +30
Now they just need to make it so you can play songs while watching your gauges!!! I did suggest this and hope to find something out in a few days.
Audible Alerts
They have also working on audible alerts for the high and low warning on gauges. On the Beta version when you click the gauge and go to Set Gauge Properties you'll see a "c", & "s" beside the high and low warning. If you press the "c", it takes you to the color display where you select the color you wish for your warning. This took the place of the red, blue and green color swatch that is currently in use. If you press the "s", it takes you to Edit Low, or High Warning Sound. You'll have 3 options here, Sound, Repeat Rate, and State. If you click Sound, then you'll be able to select the sound that you wish. Repeat Rate is in seconds and you'll be able to adjust the repeat rate using the keypad. The State key has 2 options, Enabled, or Muted. They are working on 2 types of warning. Voice over where you get a voice alerting you of the high/low warning, and beeps/horns/buzzers. I'll keep everyone posted... Also a special thanks to Black06 for letting me know that there was another Beta firmware version released.
