I have been running the 210 HP program and I have seen a 20% improvement in fuel economy over stock with the DPF. I tow a trailer everyday and hand calculate my mileage. My trailer is around 6000 lbs. Light load for this beast.
Just wondering if it is worth getting the 250 tune to get even better fuel economy.
I can not believe how well my truck runs. Smooth, firm shifts and just a hint of smoke.
Spartan ROCKS!!!!:)

I'm seeing about a 3-3.7 increase on the 250 tune, as long as I keep it at no more than 2000 rpm. Shifts hard, but if you think the 210 runs good, then you will love the 250 tune.

Mick- Have you done any comparisons in mpg's between the two tunes? I have the 210 also but completely stock other than that. I have thought about getting the 250 tune but I don't think it would work without at least getting a CAI. I have been looking at the S&B but I haven't pulled the trigger yet. I have been planning on doing some comparisons between the 210, 150, and 75 tunes that I have, but I have been having too much fun running the 210!!!

I agree. I have only loaded two tunes on my truck. 1st was the 150 because I previously had SCT's Livewire loaded with the 120 so I wanted to be safe and load the 150 to see how it works. Then the same day I loaded the 250 and haven't switched since. I'm running the stock intake and haven't experienced any problems even while at WOT.
And I haven't got any numbers yet for MPG since I'm on my first full tank with Spartan tunes loaded up.

I run the 210 all over, I pull the filter minder in with a good 3/4 romp....I'm sure I'll need a CAI with anymore of a tune. If someone could post any more gain from 210 to 250 that would be helpful

well haven't ran the 210 tune at all just the 250 and strictly city driving I'm getting 16mpg hand calculated on this last tank but then again I have a pretty heavy foot since gas prices came down :P I'm sure I can muster 18 if I drive like an old woman.
Also I have yet to pull the filter minder in at all which I feel is kinda strange, since everyone else that has their stock intake has been and I have floored it quite a bit since I have taken my SCT off and loaded up the Spartan tunes.

laketime - I might be getting .5-1.2 better that the 210 tune. Has been so long since I changed it, that to tell the truth I'm really not sure anymore. If you don't like the transmission shifting hard, don't get it. I don't run the truck hard. I just wanted something to help with the 4.10 rear-end that I have. I have to drive like an old lady, and keep it around 2000 rpm (64mph) The best I've ever gotten out of this truck was running around 67 mph, 15.7. Before the tune on the highway around 12. The power difference is awesome...

I think my truck gets about 2mpg better on the 250 tune vs the 210 tune...I have not ran any of the lower tunes.

To anyone that has installed the 150 tune.
I mostly just run the 210 tune, but during 1 long trip I decided to try the 150 to compare mpg. 1st the mpg was much less than the 210. What really surprised me was that the 150 blew smoke like no tomorrow. The 210 will put out a little smoke when you punch it. My 150 tune poured smoke under light throttle and kept pouring it out until I reached cruising speed. It was unbelievable. the cloud would linger for as long as I could see it. I took it off pretty quickly cause I honestly thought I would get a ticket if a cop were behind me. Besides after running the 210 the 150 was really boring and the mpg was worse.

Maybe we could start a "trade in program" for these tunes we will never use towards the 250 tune! LOL, I wish!!!!!

laketime - I totally agree! I used the 75hp tune one time, before we had the pre-turbo egt reading. Towed 13000, and got 8.6, which was better than I had with the same load around 1 month earlier. On the first load I got an amazing 5.5-7 mpg!

I wish!!! I haven't even tried my 75 or 150. I don't think I will ever use them either. Too bad we can't resell them or get partial credit for some future tunes.

before we had the pre-turbo egt reading.
I'm curious about this. Did you add a pre-turbo egt probe into one of your exhaust manifolds?
I'm running a Edge insight that reads the factory EGT probe..... is that reliable enough, or should I be installing a preturbo EGT probe?
And a question about the 210/250/275 tunes.... do they all have full safetys built into them (ie: Defueling strategies when EGT's get to high)?

What mick's talking about is the first version of the firmware didn't have the option to read a stock pre-turbo EGT sensor. It wasn't until the 1 or 2 firmware update when they made some changes and we could then see and read a stock pre-turbo EGT sensor.

hey guys how many of you are running the 210 - 250 tunes with the factory exaust and factory intake and what are you seeing for fuel economy? and for the guys with aftermaket exaust and intake ( cat and dpf eleminated ) what are you guys getting for fuel economy? Im just trying to get some numbers hear to see which setups run best ... thanks for the input ...

I'm seeing a 3-3.7 increase with the DPF delete, and AFE Stage II. If I knew it would increase even farther, I would probably delete the CAT, but at this point I just don't think it is worth it.

I have both stock items with the full DPF/DOC delete pipe. So far I'm avg. about 1.5-2 MPG better then stock.

Checked the last two tanks. Running the 210 program 13.5 and 13.7. Same fueling location. F350 Dually, 4x4, running 4.10 gears.

thats pretty good for the 4.10 gears whats your driving style? easy going i bet ... it makes no sense to me we have had the great advances in technology but still the same fuel econonmy for the last 25 years. something dont make sense. from carburators to the best electronic fuel injection 30 mpgs with 500 horsepower is still not possible.

Graygh0st - I can get 15-15.7 on the highway running 64-67, but any faster it drops like a rock.

That includes around 50% around town driving. Don't really get on it too much. Just once in a while. Try to keep boost down but get up to speed and into lockup asap. Thinking of getting the 250 tune as it seems people are seeing even more improvement.

Graygh0st - In the city, I only get in the high 12's to mid 13's. Just think it has to do with all that weight we have to get rolling every time we stop. And of course with the 4.10 rear-end it doesn't help us out at all. I also try to get it into high gear as soon as I can. I know before the tunes I was lucky to get 12 on the highway, and usually 10-11 in the city. I think they are the nicest looking trucks on the road, and as far as comparing them to the other trucks I have owned, well there really is no comparison. I do still miss my cummins engine, but if this one will last as they have, then maybe I will get my money out of it.
