Ive been running the 275 on my truck for a week now and I love it. The shifting is taking a bit to get used to but other than that all is good. I tow two trailers one about 16k and other about 9 or 10k. Should I put the 210 in or is 275 safe to tow this with? Ive not towed with it yet but put it in tow haul mode once and it shifts hard. Is this normal? I just got all this and trying to figure it out. Thanks for all the help.

You can run the 275 as long as you watch your EGT's. Dont let them get to hot and use common sense. I like towing with the 150 for bigger tows and the 210 for small tows.

By the way, the 275 is Supposed to shift hard. Its a race tune, if it wasnt so firm then the tranny would slip and you would have some problems.

Have you had any issues with shifting on your 210 tune? With mine, I noticed when I slowed down to make a turn, then step on the throttle it would rev up for a second or two, as if it was in neutral and then shift hard. This has happened a couple of times already, but not everytime will it do this.
I'm thinking I have the v3 tunes as a I got them on March 26 / 09

Ive read somewhere that you could tow with the 275 but like you said, watch your temps and cant get on it with the extra power or you gonna blow something. The 210 is a tune I heard that you can pull any load you want and not have any trouble with. But I dont know, im new to all this. Im just curious to see how well it pulls with all that extra power. Thanks

In the past few weeks I've towed (12,500) with both the 275hp and the 210hp without issue. Watch EGRTA, TFT, EOT, ECT and you will be all set.

Steady State Crusing at 65mph for both during tow with my 4.30 setup:
EGRTA (800 - 850)
EOT (203)
ECT (203)
TFT (170)

I have had the same exact issue. I posted out here and was told to add a half quart of tranny fluid and observe even though the dipstick read full. I did this and haven't noticed it again yet. I am not convinced it was resolved because it has only happened twice in 3000 miles. I can say if you do a search, i am not the only person that has experienced this.

With that kind of weight, I would probably stick with the 210 tune.

I pulled around 5k with the 275 and the 210 over the weekend. The trip out there, used the 275. The trip back, 210. The 275 did better on fuel mileage, but threw codes when under Heavy acceleration. The 210 on the other hand, you can drive the shit out of with no worries. From now on, the 210 will be my tow file of choice.

I have noticed the same thing. but i dont think its tuner related. Im pretty sure this happens stock too for some people. Other than that the shifting with my 210 is smooth as butter.

I have been narrowing this issue down for the last 2 years. It is NOT the tune. It is either the transmission or the rear end. I am pretty sure it is the transmission.
I have a certain spot in the road on my way home every day that tries to cause this to happen. It is up hill with an S curve. I have to accelerate and then let off and accelerate again in a short distance. I have had it happen a couple of times on a straight run if I let off and then accelerate again in just the right time frame.
It seems to be a glitch in the transmission when it tries to go back to a lower gear and you accelerate before it gets there. It then jumps to the lower gear and jolts the truck. It makes you feel like you almost ripped the rear end out.
Mine was doing this before I ever got the Spartan tune. I originally thought it was the limited slip rear end but Im pretty sure now that it is the transmission. I can keep a slight throttle on while I go around my last curve ( going home ) and it doesn't happen, but I sometimes forget and it will get me. It's almost like a clutch that is slipping and then abruptly ketches.
