Just got off the phone with my dealer and they have voided the rest of my warranty. I have a blown head gasket. Their reason was that Ford is tightening up on warranty funding and my truck didn't comply with Ford's strict warranty policy. The truck is stock other that the exhaust which is a Flo Pro DPF delete from the downpipe back. In the past this dealer has been good with this kind of stuff. They have done warranty work (replace rad and gasket between downpipe and turbo etc...) on 2 of our trucks as early as 2 months ago with the exact same mods done. So to say the least I'm choked.

So put your truck back to stock, stock air filter, full stock exhaust dpf & cat then call Ford Motor Corp. and B**** to them that your ford survice center wont fix it under warranty, or find a new dealer and take your truck 100% stock to them so they will fix it.

if you had a dpf delete pipe then you had a tuner too. Always put it back to stock when you take it to the dealer! Spending 2 hours or less doing it is much better then losing your warranty.

I had made arrangements previously with the dealer that it was OK to bring the truck in with the exhaust on as long as the computer was back to stock and DTC's were cleared. The problem now is some dork in the service department is trying to be a hero and flagged my VIN so basically I'm f#$%&*. This was very stupid on their part because the truck is an "in house" lease so they have seriously de-valued the truck they own. The reason I'm making a post here is to inform others to beware.

That sucks. Sorry to hear about it. I will def be returning mine to stock 100% before she goes back. I just don't want to take that chance.

Old post I know but how do you know if your VIN has been flagged, does it show it on any of your work orders??? What is the Ford code for your F@!k'd?

The oasis program is fords online warranty setup. If its flagged there then no one will touch it. I had this problem with my edge chip as they said they saw high fuel codes. The service writer was one of my dads friends and he called and said one of the techs found the old edge chip reciept burried in my glove box. BASTRD!
So I bought mine used with 4k miles from a non ford dealer, was like new to me. Got it for $31,000. Got a steal. I bitched that the truck had the edge on it when I bought it( it did, I swear :).

So I told the dealer look you sold me a truck and said it had a warranty, now it dosnt. I want my truck fixed. They agreed. They fixed it and got my warranty reinstated. They had to talk to a ford service manager to get it reinstated, hes the only one that can do that. Ford online (over the phone) will act like they want to help but you will be brushed off in the end, and they will just say sorry there is nothing we can do. Its out of our hands. There is nothing we can do. I beat that dead horse for over 2 months and I'll tell you upfront, it goes absolutley nowhere. You need to be prepared to pay when you mods stuff. Spartans setup is the clostet thing your going to get to ensure you get your truck fixed. Edge is bullshit, it does leave traces, especially if you leave the reciept in your glove box and have a snoopy asshole working on your truck.
I got lucky. No matter what any dealer says YOU MUST PUT IT BACK TO 100% stock. About the only thing you can get away from is wheel tires and a lift, keep in mind they told me any lift bigger than 6" and 37" tires can void tranny warranty. Not always it could go either way. Its up to the Ford rep if he comes out to look at the truck. Anyway.
A blown motor is a whole other story. When a motor blows its almost impossible to hide it as there is about 8 diffrent things they can see internaly in a motor that is dead give away signs of modification. Ford is really tough on these diesels because they bill out $13,000+ for a new motor. Thats too much money for Ford to just let a aftermarket modification slip by.

Biggest and best thing to do it take it back to 100% stock and dont say a word. I personally would call around to dealers or walk in and talk to techs and see what there attitude is towards mods. Some dealers will let the stuff slide by with a blind eye as they get money to fix your truck. The kicker is any broken part that is replaced by the dealer is inspected by Ford before ford will write the dealer the check for the warranty work. So if the dealer knows that Ford will see a dead give away, they probably wont do the work as they know they will not get paid for it. Therefore they give you the bill to pay 100% upfront before the work is performed.

ernie scar, check your lease agreement, you might find you just bought the devalue of the truck due to the voided warranty, you may end up coughing up the difference ford now can get for the truck, not saying for sure but they do cover their as* on leases for trucks/cars retuned.

we have gone back and forth they replased the injectors under warranty then they said truck was flagged then it was reinstated. then it wasd denied again for another reason the biggest problem is the tech working on them dont hanve a clue whats going on so its easy to cast blame on tunners or other mods. we had a ford engineer come out and tell us the turbo was bad and it was not to be coverd under warranty we replased turbo. and still have the same problem smokes and lots of blow by. cyl compression is off by up to 50psi on # 5 but ford says thats ok bullshit my next truck will not be a ford. 6.0 are junk and the 6.4 arent any better the dealer ships around here are swamped with 6.4 problems.
