Hey Scott.....I am sending you an email right now....I guess I need a stock file sent to me.
I tried to put the truck back to stock, and it says invalid file or something...dont have a fucking clue.
But I need it asap...gotta get the truck in and fixed so I can take it to Houston for the diesel Nats first of October.
Thanks
Scott

I really dont understand it.
I have returned mine to stock a couple times...hell I returned to stock last saturday, then re loaded the 250 tune after that...all went fine...but today it says invalid file.
I "think" that anytime you return to stock you need to delete the "old" stock file on the memory card, then when you re load a performance tune it will automatically save the "new" stock file on the card. For some reason I feel this is the issue.

Same with me. I reloaded the stock tune in the past. I wonder if over time the computer collects enough data under the new tune that it wont except the parameters under the stock tune, because they are to old. I could be FOS but who knows?

i just got my dashdaq last week, got the tunes, loaded the 75 to make sure they would load, then loaded the 250, then tried to put it back to stock, cause i didnt have my pipes yet, but it said invalid stock tune

I think you are on the right track.

Add me to the list. I loaded the tunes after I got them and returned to stock no problem. Second time I tried it I got "Invalid Stock Tune". Scott sent me a tune to get me going, but it's not my stock tune. This all happened after I updated to the latest firmware via the web. Coincidence?

Come to think of it, me too! After the 1219 firmware update! Thats also when my tranny went out!

I understand where you're coming from here, but I was under the impression that it copied the stock file on the initial tune and never did it again. My truck is at home, otherwise I'd try it right now.
Any input from the experts on this one? It'd be nice to know how to avoid this in the future in case we get stranded and have to take the rig to the dealer for something....

No...I know for SURE that if you return your truck to stock...and then you install a "tune" again, it will take 30 minutes or so..and it will say saving stock tune....even though its already on the card...it will save it again, I kinda think thats when the problems start.

What happened to your tranny?
This is part of the reason I am bringing mine in.....the tranny seems to be slipping.
But the real big reason is it will not start...it cranks, but wont start..almost like its not getting fuel. Its not a sensor issue where it does nothing, when you turn the key it cranks, for 10 seconds...at the end it almost fires up but then nothing.

A buddy told me when that happens, your flywheel is probably crack or seriously warped. My 250 never acted the same after the 1219 update either. I posted the results under the trouble shooting section/tranny problem. Check it out, let me know if anything sounds familiar?

I just read your post....mine did nto do anything like that...but I can feel it slipping, and I am pretty sure it is I am getting 715/717 codes...thats something to do with the input shaft not seeing the speeds expected.

I hope this is all just bugs getting worked out, I really didn't want to have to get a new transmission one month after the tune install. That was probably my 7th power launch ever.
Also, why haven't the new firmware updates been posted on this site??? Why were they posted first on other forums??

They dont even need posted really....cause you jsut use the updater tool and click the button check web for updates.

true, but since this is the first update we can use the updater, I thought it was odd to not post on here.
The first time I used the "check web for updates" it found 1219. I just tried it again and have several times since the first successful try and I always get a "operation timed out" error. Anyone else?

Email Scott at the 64cal email addy and attach your stock tune with a description of what went wrong. He is pretty good at getting back to ya with the stock tune that will load. He took over a day for me because he thought Matt took care of me already. Others have received the modified stock tune in less than 12hrs.

Scott got me rolling again with a recovery tune yesterday and I just got a replacement stock tune from him that DrewTech put together today. I'll load it when I get home, hopefully this takes care of the problem we're all having.

Pahrump - The same day that the firmware update came out (1.4.0-1219) before I downloaded it I returned my truck to stock. Updated the firmware, loaded the 210 tune, and then tried to reload the stock tune. Would not reload. Same error as you. I had a spare sd card with all my tunes and stock file. Swapped cards and the second one loaded. I copied the stock tune again from the sd card that worked on to the other card and reloaded the stock tune last week. It worked just fine. Think they have a problem!

Yeah I talked to Matt about it today, it has to do with the new firmware.
I tried to put the old firmware on my DD and then load the tune...still no luck. I am sure Nutty will have me a new stock tune here soon, and I will get it loaded and get it up to the shop.
Sounds like I got some major problems....injector control pump maybe....cabs probably coming off.

have you guys noticed that the "check web for updates" doesn't work? Neither does the DashDAQ website? Something is definitely not right! Thanks for the confirmation Pahrump! It hard for me to not think my tranny issue isn't related to all this. The 250 tune seemed off ever since I installed it after the 1219 update.
Oh yah, I used my backup copy of my stock file from my computer and this time got the error "WRONG STOCK FILE". ??

texguy75: that's what happened to me.... updated firmware, tried to go back to stock... ERROR every time... tried to load .stk file from backup and got "WRONG STOCK FILE"
Just wait for Scott to get you straightened out.... got my stock file back tonight from DrewTech. He asked this morning and I got my file this afternoon.
Hopefully this all gets worked out. It's hard being the tip of the spear with these things, there's always something around the corner you didn't expect. You can test all day long, but something is bound to go wrong eventually (my wife is a software developer, so this stuff is not new to me).

Before installing the latest firmware update I,
loaded my stock tune,
installed the update,
loaded my 210 tune,
made a copy of the transfer folder.
Haven't tried to reload the stock tune. I did look in winders explorer and noticed all the files have a date modified, except the stock file. I know with other files this is usually a sign of a corrupted file.

We are experiencing some issues with the latest firmware and returning the vehicle to stock. I will let everyone know when the fix is available. Please only ask for a stock file replacement if you need to put the vehicle back to stock for dealer work before the update is available. The update may be able to still use the existing ".stk" file. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Update on this...I changed my fuel filters this evening....cycled the key 6-7 times for 30 seconds each time...truck started up after cranking a bit....killed it ans it started up again fine.
But threw the 2291 code again, injector pressure too low....I think I will still bring it in tomorrow...hell I already got it all put back stock anyhow.
