View Full Version : Turbo Timer?

Hey guys I'm new to the Forum and Spartan setup. One thing I was sure of that there was a turbo timer for letting it cool down and shut it self off after the key has been removed and the doors locked. My edge chip had one(junk) but it was a peppy 80Hp chip, but it had the turbo timer and that was the most favorite add on ever. If there is not one can if be programmed, I was told it was limitless buy a few guys.

Couple other things.

1) any links to better mounting options?

2)210 isn't as fast as crisp of a shift as the EDGE chip was, will the 275 be what I'm looking for. I was told they had to program it to shift stiff to preserve tranny. Then I heard the shifts that save the tranny are very abrupt, but traction bars take care of that. I put on bars and now I hear that the abrupt shifting is hard on tranny and TCM is recommended, as well as upgraded TCM for longevity. So was the hard shifting saving the tranny? Did I need traction bars? Thanks for info, not at all upset just lookin for info

3)Any time I step on my throttle 75% depressed my DD starts beeping, have no idea whats beeping, I set a few voice alerts and still I'm hearing beeping, but voice commands too. Are these set way to low or am I really doing damage and need to back off. I go a little over 50% throttle and I hear Fule rail pressure voice warning.

4) How do I know what its warning me about. I've tried logging but have no idea how to read the logging, its a bunch of straight lines on diffrent logs and others are up and down but it shows me nothing that is usefull to me. Like no time line and measurements of where the lines are hitting.

5)Is there a tire size recalculator for this thing?

6)How do I get the metal background, its not on my dashdaq? I believe I read I have to put my truck back to stock, back up my firmware( i have the
2.1.1 1633 on the CD that came with it so do i really need to back it up? Then down load the 2.1.2 1900 or somthing like that right?

7)Another thing my truck stock could hit 35lbs of boost no problem. But I noticed my DD is set for 35 to be the alarm and 40 to be the max. I hammered on it up a hill and couldn't get more than 35. Can I get more from changing the limit, and is it really dangerous and something I shouldn't do?

8)Everyone made me kinda think I would get scary power out of the 210 tuner, i had the edge chip with 80hp and could chirp the tires. I cant break my tires loose with the 210 tune unless I power brake, how is that possible, is the 210hp total only 210 toward the end of the gear later in the RPM range. Before I only had the Edge and the AFE intake and now I have a cat/dpf delete and my tires dont break loose on flat ground with my 37"s and I'm only running .5 second faster on the 1/4 mile. Is my parameters and warnings set on my DD to cut out? Kinda feels like if I ease through the gear there is more gradual power rather than WOT, WOT seems kinda dogish compared to gradual WOT. Like if it took me 3.5 seconds to fully depress the throttle it seems to run smoother and harder but still not just as much better as I imagined it would.

9)I'm thinking the 250 or 275 tunes results is maybe what I expected. But now I hear my Job 1 is recommended to have a new torque converter and TCM for longevity. I know this is recommended for the 310 as its making the tranny last longer. So all I need to know is being that this is my daily driver would I be stupid to do the, lets say 275 without either the TCM or tourque converter, because I'm being told my job#1 is garbage and the life will be greatly shortened.

Thanks guys

Call Mick he will help you. You have a lot of questions. I use the 210 and 250 for everyday driving. The 250 is much faster then the 210 but shifts a little hard. I'm pretty sure you can use the 250 without a TCM on the Job 1. Not sure about the 275. The 210 also has safety measures in it so it will defuel when your temps get too high. If you want pretty fast get the 250, if you want very fast and want to spend the extra money on the TCM and Suncoast then go with the 310. I have the 250 and beat most anything out on the road. I don't race everything on the road though and I don't go to the track. If you want to run real fast at the track then do the 310. My truck will smoke the tires with the 210 loaded so I don't know what to tell you there. As far as getting the different backgrounds or themes on the dash d you have to go to drew tech site and download. These are links on this forum. Good luck.

yeah i have toyo 37" m/t. I have to build serious boost to get about a 2 second burnout. Now on all settings my EOT shows zero, the needle dosent even move on any diffrent theme setting. Not sure why that is. Yeah the 210must defuel pretty good as today it went pretty fast and felt sluggish and then I floored it and nothing, no gain. Its done this now almost everytime today. Still curious if I'm missing something. I'd like to call mick but this would be one long voicemail. I'll just leave it here for him to hopefully run across. Getting pretty bumbed about the tire size correction and turbo timer. I figured these would be a given on a setup like this from what I was hearing. Its on almost any other chip or tuner out there.

Brian what size tires do you run, I got 37" 13.5x20 toyo MT
If you got stocks or small All Terrains then smoking the tires would probably not be a problem. I have to build boost and then let go and they will go for almost 2seconds. Not that I'm worried about it, just if you running tires like mine and you can stomp on it and burn them from a dead stop then somthing is diffrent between our trucks or tunes.
