Not sure if detectability is even a damn word...but anyhow, I thought I would post this for those of you that are concerned.
I had an issue with my truck, so I set it back to stock and put my intake back to stock as well as my CAT/DPF back on...only thing modded was of course the lift, and the filter back RBP exhaust.
They took note of the exhaust, but agreed that it would not cause any problems, they also noted to me that it appeared the intake had been disturbed, but it had a new, clean element in it, I quickly responded, yeah I changed the filter recently, and when I pulled the old one out the entire damn box came out with it and I could not get it back in good....that went over great with them.
They did not mention anything else...and I was told that the truck was hooked up to the computer for 30 minutes in the shop, and then again for about 50 miles of driving time..it was hooked to a laptop. So I would venture to guess if the tuner would have been visible then they would have taken note and said something.
Anyhow...worthless post this may be...but I wanted to let you guys know...that it seems the Spartan tuner is not easily visible. Now if you blow the engine, and FORD gets involved...who knows...they might be able to see more than the techs can.

pahrump - That's good to hear. I guess they never mentioned that it had been reprogrammed a few times? At least you had some good answers for their questions. Great post!

They never mentioned anything about any tuning, programming or anything.
I told them before I even brought it in that I had used a code scanner on it that I had to see what was maybe wrong. I did not know if maybe their tools would show that the PCM had been accessed or not, but I figured telling them I had a code scanner and I had used it on the truck would cover that.

BTW, they said nothing was wrong with the truck, other than dirty fuel filters...I guess the filters were so clogged that it was not getting any fuel to the pump, and thats why it thres the 2291 code...

This is great info Pahrump..... Did they happen to say anything about an ECC reset counter that someone posted about? Also, did you drive the truck around for a couple of days in stock form or just put everything back and head right for the dealer??

They did not say anything about any computer issues. I just set it back to stock..the truck would not even start, it was towed into the dealer on a roll back.

Parump-
Did they offer to do one of the new updates?
My dealer did the "MPG Update" on my buddys truck when he was getting a new rad. Didn't tell him until he picked it up.
I would assume that if he had our Phalanx set up, he would have problems re-loading the tunes.??
BTW, what would happen if the dealer reflashed?

I told them specifically that I did not want any new flash, I told them that it ran fine, and got ok mileage for having 38's on it....lol
I would venture to guess that if FORD re flashes it then you might need new tunes form Spartan.

maybe im not understanding this but, why would you need new tunes, if ford reflashes it then, why couldnt you just reload your spartan tune, and have the dash daq save the newest stock tune that ford just gave you(prolly cant resave stock tune now, but maybe with new programming to the dash daq, all thats getting changed is the tuning/programming by ford right
just like my dad has told people-"sorry for being so dumb"...lol

The way it was explained to me is that when Ford reflashes the EEC it changes the strategy codes or updates them and this process makes the tunes useless because they no longer match the EEC. You get one free set of tunes for reflashes issues but then you'll need to pay a fee for the next set of tunes.

Thanks for the info. I Before I got the Spartan. I did the Edge tuning and it shut my truck off. I took the tuner out, towed it to Ford and they never detected any changes on my truck.
